A GUMBO COOKOFF TO RAISE MONEY FOR SCHOLARSHIPS

Nestled among the palm trees between Pensacola and the white sand beaches of the Gulf of Mexico is a community of six thousand people called Gulf Breeze. In the heart of Gulf Breeze, the 115 member Gulf Breeze Rotary Club meets for breakfast on Tuesday mornings at the Andrews Institute, a world-class orthopedics and sports medicine institute named for internationally known orthopedic surgeon-James Andrews.
The object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise through friendships, high ethical standards, and personal service. Locally, the Gulf Breeze Rotary Club is involved in a number of service projects each year, with the primary emphasis being college scholarships for deserving Gulf Breeze High School students. Since the inception of the club in 1973, over $300,000 has been contributed to that end.
But Gulf Breeze Rotary's vision also extends around the world. They participate in a global fellowship of business and professional persons in 170 countries whose sole purpose is international understanding, goodwill, and peace throughout the world.
If you are a business person in driving distance of Gulf Breeze who seeks an opportunity for fellowship and an outlet for service, Gulf Breeze extends an invitation to you. Come on in, the water's fine!
Rotary International Mission Statement:
The mission of The Rotary Foundation is to enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty.
The Object of Rotary...
The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:
First. The development of acquaintance as an opporunity for service.
Second. High ethical standards in business and professions, the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations, and the dignifying of each Roatarian's occupation as an opportunity to serve society.
Third. The application of the ideal of service in each Roatrian's personal, business and community life.
Fourth. The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business.
The Four Way Test
Of the things we say, think or do...
1. Is it the truth?
2. Is it fair to all concerned?
3. Will it build good will and better friendships?
4. Will it be beneficial to all concerned?
